Overthinking Quotes

Think less, feel more

“Think less, feel more”

This is an amazing overthinking quote that is so relevant to everyday life. Instead of thinking about situations, being overanalytical and robotic, why not just be present to the moment and FEEL more? When you’re feeling you’re enjoying the day you’re taking each moment as it comes. When you’re thinking you’re no longer in the moment. Your mind is elsewhere.

"You're a victim of your own mind"

“You’re a victim of your own mind”

You can either be the master of your mind or a slave to it. If you find yourself constantly ruminating over negative scenarios, telling yourself you’re not good enough, lacking belief in yourself, then its because you are currently a victim of your own mind. To break out of this victim mentality I definitely recommend you check out my Psycho Cybernetics Summary. This is going to massively help you if you want to know how to change your thoughts and beliefs about yourself!

"Stop overthinking. you can't control everything. Just let it be."

“Stop overthinking. you can’t control everything. Just let it be.”

How many times have you thought and thought about a situation that has already come to pass? And what does all that thinking accomplish? Does it make you happier? I doubt it. All that thinking does is cause you to relieve painful moments over and over. It’s okay to reflect on the past if you’re learning from it. But be cautious, sometimes your mind may take you to negative places that you should avoid. This is one of my favourite overthinking quotes to remind you just to let somethings be!

"Your mind is your instrument. Learn to be its master and not its slave"

“Your mind is your instrument. Learn to be its master and not its slave”

Like I previously said, you’re either a master of your thoughts or a slave to them. This quote really reminds you that you can build something beautiful with your mind, or you can let your mind tear you down. When looking at overthinking quotes. Remember this one in particular. Because it’s not that overthinking is bad. It’s when you obsess over negative thoughts which is.

"There is nothing in the world that can trouble you as much as your own thoughts"

“There is nothing in the world that can trouble you as much as your own thoughts”

This is another one of the great overthinking quotes to remember. As Shakespeare says “there is nothing good or bad but thinking makes it so.” Sometimes bad things do happen but it’s whether you dwell on it that makes it truly terrible. So the next time you’re worrying about something that is happening in your life. Ask yourself is it helping to ruminate over it? Or are you just making yourself unhappy?

"Stop overthinking. You're only creating problems that aren't there."

“Stop overthinking. You’re only creating problems that aren’t there.”

I love this one. How many scenarios have you come up with in your head that never comes to pass? You are literally creating problems that aren’t there. And instead of focusing on positives and coming up with solutions to make your life EVEN better, you’re just worrying about things that are probably never going to happen.

“Overthinking is normally a symptom of underdoing.”

This is an amazing overthinking quote and it really really gets you thinking about what you’re doing in your life. When you’re constantly taking action you don’t have time to overthink! In fact, I’d go so far as to say one of the best medicines for overthinking is by the same amount of action. Next time you worry about your problems don’t think about them constantly without making a move! Actually take action, any kind of action! And you’re going to be amazed how good you’ll feel afterward.

“The soul always knows what to do to heal itself. the challenge is silencing the mind”

Yep, do what comes naturally to you. Whatever you feel you should do. Do that. Don’t let your mind put you off! The key to silencing your mind is to practice meditation and mindfulness. Next time you’re aware that you’re in your own head notice everything that is going on around you. Notice the all the sounds that you can hear, the colours that are around you, what your skin feels like against your clothes. Notice everything. Before you know it your mind will be silent and you’ll be in the present moment!

“Overthinking: The art of creating problems that weren’t even there.”

This just sums overthinking up in one quote doesn’t it. That’s all overthinking ever is, creating problems that aren’t there and which may not in fact ever exist. So the next time you find yourself overthinking, ask yourself if there is something you can do right now to fix the situation? If there is, then do that. If there’s not, then what is overthinking going to accomplish? It might just be holding you back from thinking about more important things.

“Stop overthinking. Whatever happens, happens.”

Just like I previously said. If overthinking isn’t going to improve your situation, then what’s the point in doing it? Whatever happens, happens! Take as much positive action as you can and know that when the chips fall that you did everything in your power to produce a positive result. Then even if things don’t go 100% your way you can sleep soundly knowing you gave it your all, and get ready to tackle the next big obstacle.

“Get out of your head and into your heart.”

And this is the last and possibly one of your favourite quotes. Stop thinking with your head and start thinking with your heart/gut/instinct. This one is especially important when it comes to taking a leap of faith! If you have a new job opportunity that could come with new challenges and you’re scared for whatever reason about it. Or perhaps you’re trying to pluck up the courage to talk to that boy/girl you like. And you’re thinking about all the things that might go wrong. That’s your head talking! Stop listening to that and start listening to your heart. Because I promise you this. If you always follow your heart you’ll never regret your life because you’ll know you gave it your all!
