How To Remove Fear From Mind And Heart

We all have moments in life we wish we could say or do something yet the fear and pressure makes us cower away. Afterwards, we go home and kick ourselves about the missed opportunities. The chances that we might have just missed out on. If you want to experience everything you can in life you need to face your fears. So it’s time for you to start becoming courageous, own up to your problems and learn how to remove fear from mind and heart.

There are a million tips on how to remove fear from mind and heart but these are some of the BIGGEST ones that have helped me in the past and I hope they help you too!

Don’t hide your fear

Everyone feels fear. Stop acting like it’s something to be ashamed of. If you try to hide your fear from other people or yourself you are clouding your own mind. Therefore taking the focus and concentration away from battling your fear. Let others know that you are scared and remind yourself it’s okay to be scared too. Once everything is in the open you’ll have one less problem to worry about. Accepting that you don’t have to hide your fear is the first step in how to overcome fear in mind and heart!

Start focusing on the best case scenario

Start thinking about the great possibilities that will happen if you face your fears. The limit of your capability is only stunted by your fears, so stop worrying about what could go wrong and start thinking about what could go right. Use that as motivation to confront whatever is making you afraid.

For example, I used to be really afraid of talking to new people. I’d always be playing the same thoughts over in my head.. “What if they think I’m weird” “What if I say something awkward” or “What if they laugh at me behind my back.”

These thoughts held me back so many times, probably from people who might now even be my best friends! You need to realize that you are in control of the thoughts in your head. So you get to choose whether you think positive ones or negative ones! Once you start thinking positive your fear will fade away.

It may not always be easy but it will always be worth it.

Accept the worst case scenario

Although this seems contradictory think about the worst possible situation that could happen. Realistically it may be an inconvenience. Is it going to be life threatening though? Is what you’re afraid of going to change your life permanently for the worst, with no hope of redemption? If it is then this guide isn’t for you. But if not, lighten up a little. Remember life’s a game, so start playing. As a rule of thumb if something isn’t going to bother you in 5 years then you should go ahead and do it. You may be rewarded for it.

Start believing in yourself

Part of the reason you might be feeling fear is that you simply don’t believe in yourself. Start trusting your gut instinct that what you are doing is right. Don’t worry about what other people are thinking, they may not understand your goals and they’re not walking down the same path as you. If you really want to know how to remove fear from mind and heart FOREVER it’s through believing in yourself.

Your fear is an indicator

Stop seeing fear as something you should avoid. Because in fact, you should be grateful when you feel fear. When you feel fear that is an indication of the direction you should be going. Think of it this way, your fear is your body’s way of saying “This is important to me, don’t mess it up.” Before you learn how to remove fear from heart and mind. Make sure you know where your fear is trying to get you. “Fears that aren’t confronted become limits”

Remember times you have succeeded in the past

Think about all the times in your life you have overcome your fears. The moment is never as bad as the constant worry leading up to it. Instead of focusing on the buildup to whatever frightens you at the moment remember how you felt the last time you conquered your fears.

What fear have you conquered that you can call upon?

Did you overcome the fear of starting a new job? Or maybe there was a guy or girl you plucked up the courage to speak to? Take some time to remember moments you overcame your fears. Next time you begin to get scared, remember this moment and it may give you the boost of courage you need.

And most importantly…

Remind yourself that your fear is a chain holding you back from everything that you want in life, these are your two options: “Try and see what happens” or “don’t try, and 100% fail”.

Don’t trick yourself into believing that not taking a chance = not failing. The moment an opportunity isn’t seized it is lost. And you have failed by default. I don’t know about you but I think someone who tries and fails is 100x better than somebody who never bothered trying!

“Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. The fearful are caught as often as the bold.” – Helen Keller.
