Subconscious Mind Programming

What is the subconscious mind?

The subconscious mind is essentially a HUGE memory bank. Everything you have ever experienced in life is stored in your subconscious mind. If you think you’ve forgotten something, you haven’t. Your conscious mind may have. But somewhere deep down it is stored in the subconscious. Where it will be forever.

The subconscious mind is also responsible for all the automatic actions you take. For example, what is driving a car like now compared to when you first started. Can you remember focusing fully on every gear change, every indication? After a couple of months of driving, you may not even remember your trip to work! This is the same reason you don’t have to focus on breathing.

Why it’s so important to reprogramme your subconscious mind?

Just like driving becomes automatic, so will your reactions to situations you’ve been in multiple times. Emotions will automatically be triggered based on past experiences. Have you ever reacted to a situation in a way that you did not want too? That’s because your subconscious mind was running on autopilot. The truth is…

YOU are not in control of your body and actions.  “YOU” are your conscious mind. 95% of brain activity occurs beyond your conscious awareness. Just think about that. Even if you think to yourself “well I know I choose what I want to do it’s not my subconscious” that’s probably not true. Every conscious thought you have has been placed into your head by many subconscious thoughts. It’s estimated that 95-99% of your life comes from the programming in your subconscious mind. So if you want different results, you need to stop focusing on your conscious thoughts. And start taking care of the subconscious ones.

Subconscious Mind Programming – How It’s Done

Before you undertake any of these techniques you should try meditating. Meditating will relax your body and mind. Making you more susceptible for the input that’s about to go in. Meditation is also great at any point in the day when you’re getting stressed and need a breather. So it’s definitely worth turning this action into a habit.

Subliminal messaging

Subliminal messaging is just one way to change your subconscious thoughts. Listening to audio with subliminal tracks running underneath when you’re asleep or awake is a powerful way of letting thoughts sink into your subconscious. This technique is the easiest because you can just sleep while your mind is being reprogrammed. How is easy is that? If you have a phone and a pair of headphones there’s NO EXCUSE for you not to start incorporating subliminal messaging into your life. Not when you can listen whilst your ASLEEP!

Affirmations

Not quite subliminal messaging but pretty similar. From the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep you are constantly having a conversation with yourself in your head. If that conversation is negative you’re going to have a negative life. Saying affirmations like “I am full of energy” or “I have abundance in my life” repeatedly is a great way to change your subconscious thoughts. Be sure to remember that when you are doing affirmations to speak in the present tense and avoid negative words. For example, don’t say “I will not fail” say “I succeed” The subconscious mind can only recognize the present moment and doesn’t work with negatives.

A great app that I use on my phone is “ThinkUp” it’s free to download and lets you record affirmations that you can then listen to on repeat! I highly recommend downloading this app. It even allows you to play your affirmations with music so they sink into your subconscious even if you’re not focusing on them constantly! Pretty cool!

Suggestions

If you have a goal or agenda you really need to complete, let your subconscious be aware of it. For example, if you need to be at work for 7. Tell your subconscious “Tomorrow is a very important day. I need to be up at 6 am so I can make it on time for work”Once this is planted into the subconscious mind, that will happen for you without feeling the need to drag yourself out of bed. Because your subconscious now knows that it’s important to you! Using suggestions is a very powerful way for both parts of your mind collaborating.

Suggestions are great because they give your subconscious an EXACT task that it needs to follow. It almost trains your subconscious to follow the instructions of your conscious mind. All the while showing YOU and your subconscious the things that are important to you!

Visualisation

Visualisation is so great for your subconscious mind because it cannot distinguish what is real from what is imaginary. It is such a powerful tool for subconscious mind programming and one you should think about using daily! When you visualize your dreams and see them as they have already happened, your subconscious will start to align your actions to make your dreams possible.

When you visualize you want to keep very specific. Note the feelings and emotions you will have when you’ve accomplished your goal. What are you doing once it’s been reached? What does it look like? Sound like? Feel like? Ask yourself all these questions and visualize in as much detail as you can.

Another benefit of visualization is that it also motivates you to keep pushing when you don’t feel like it anymore. Because you have a clear end goal in sight.

How long will it take to complete?

If you’re looking for a quick fix solution then these probably aren’t for you. The number of years you have spent in a negative thought pattern cannot be negated with one 10 minute session of visualization. It could take a month or more to start noticing results in your life. But be rest assured the wait is well worth it

Imagine feeling great about yourself all the time. Or having the belief in yourself that anything is possible for you! With subconscious mind programming, this is possible for you! The time is going to pass anyway so why not make the most of it. Start creating a few healthy habits that are going to change your life for the better.
